Member and Council Spotlight: Shining a Light on Our Shea Assembly Heroes

Dear Brother Sir Knights,

As the newly elected Faithful Pilot of Commander John J. Shea Assembly #729 in the 1st New York District, I am excited to introduce a new initiative: the Member and Council Spotlight series. This feature will celebrate the outstanding contributions, achievements, and patriotic service of our fellow 4th Degree members and the councils within our Shea Assembly. Our Assembly, comprised of dedicated Sir Knights from various councils across Suffolk County, has a rich history of promoting Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism through activities like honor guards, community outreach, veterans' support, and ceremonial events.

Whether it's a member who has gone above and beyond in organizing events such as our annual participation in Pearl Harbor Day ceremonies at Calverton National Cemetery, leading bingo nights at local veterans' homes, or spearheading community programs, we want to highlight these stories to inspire greater involvement and recognition. Recent examples of our Assembly's noteworthy work include the launch of our brand-new Facebook page to enhance communication and engagement, as well as ongoing collaborations with local councils for charitable initiatives.

If you know a member or council within our Shea Assembly that is involved in something noteworthy—be it acts of service, leadership in patriotic events, or contributions to our faith-based mission—we want to spotlight them! Submissions must focus on members or councils from Commander John J. Shea Assembly #729 to keep the focus on our local brotherhood.

To nominate someone or share a story, please email me or reach out to us on Facebook. Let's work together to get more 4th Degree members and councils involved and showcase the incredible impact we're making in our communities.

Vivat Jesus!
