Honor Guard

What is the difference between color core and honor guard?

The color core is referred to when presenting the colors or in a parade etc.

Honor Guard is used at a wake or church service or escorting dignitaries and
possible instillation ceremonies.

Installation of officer’s ceremony.

The color core will present the American flag assembly flag and the Master's
District flag. You will assemble in the rear of the hall.

If carrying a flag, you will (not) wear a sword but, rather just your uniform beret
baldric, and gloves.

All other members of the color core will wear complete uniforms.

Back of the hall assembly.

Line up. In line first one honor guard with complete uniform followed by the
American flag assembly flag and masters flag followed by one honor
guardsman. Guardsmen will carry their swords in the carry position.

You will march in (space available from the right side of the hall. The command
will be forward march. You will then make a left turn in front of the podium and
the command will be to halt. The order is then given to (left face).

When the pledge of allegiance is recited all flags (except) the American flag will
dip their flag down on an angel, and guards will present swords. After that, the
order is given to (post the colors). Guards will return swords to carry position.
The order is given to About Face and then the flag barriers will put their flag in
the flag holder. The two remaining guards will stay at their post. When the flags
are posted the flag barriers will return to their position in line.

The order will now be given to about-face. Then the order is given to left face
and forward march. The Color Core will retire to the back of the hall.

At this point, all honor guard will wear their complete uniform to escort
members of the assembly to be installed. Procedure. Two honor guards one on
each side of the assembly member to be installed. March in front of the podium

With swords in the carry position. Then the order is given to hand salute. This
order is given by the honor guard who is in line first. Now the officer who is to
be installed is given the order to hand salute once again to salute then takes his
seat. The honor guard will repeat this procedure until all members to be
installed are seated. Then retire to the back of the hall.

After all officers are installed the honor guard will form in the back of the hall to
march in and retrieve the colors. March in like before and turn left in front of
the podium. The order will be to halt. Now the order is to about-face and
retrieve the colors. When done the order to about-face is given. The master will
ask all present to stand and sing our national anthem. All flags (except the
American flag) will once again dip down. After the national anthem, the order is
given to retire the colors. The color core will be given the order to left face and
forward march. The color core will retire to the back of the hall.
